    well ive bought one (at a lot less than he was asking) and he says he has a recently imported 202 waiting to be broken so if i can wait a while he'll send me that one.

    Unfortunately there's no database of Toyota gearbox (or engine numbers for that matter) serial numbers that I know of, nothing in the EPC either to cross reference with.

    Avensis s50 box of a 2.0 td (97-00) has a 3.736 final drive.

    My S54 (rev 2 1992 car, JDM import) was almost exactly 20mph per 1000rpm in 5th. 60mph = 3000rpm, 80mph = 4000 rpm, theoretical limit of ~145mph @ 7250rpm
    Not a comfortable, or quiet set of ratios, but kind of needed with that engine.

    thats slightly better than im getting which supports my assumption that later gearboxes have different ratios..

    For somebody who wants it I have a Rev5 low milage S54 gearbox, a MK3 LSD, brand new 3342832040 & 3333633020 gears (still packaged up), along with the driveshafts, stands me at £430 (will need parts putting inside)
