    Which clutch do people recommend?

Been a long time since I posted, and almost as long since I last drove my MR2. In fact the last time it ran was when I needed to move it 2.5 years ago, and I think it went into storage either late 2012 or early 2013 so at least four years since it last saw the road. Anyway, I've got a new unit to work in and with summer coming I'm inspired to get it going again. I may even supercharge it if nobody buys this.

So anyway, high up on the list of things to do is change the clutch. I put a Techniclutch in it when I last put it together and it is total shit. It's ok for regular driving but if you try to launch it off the lights it just slips, and that's just with stock 3VZ power so if I do supercharge it stands no chance.

I'm running the Fidanza lightweight flywheel and a turbo box. If I remember right (distant memory) I had to swap the friction plate over when I went from the stock gearbox to the turbo one which I why I swapped to the Techniclutch in the first place.

What is the current thinking on a decent clutch that will handle ~300lb/ft that a supercharged 3VZ will put out, not be a pig to drive, and (hopefully) not cost the earth? Anyone like to share the setup they are running and their experience of it?

    Thanks, Chris

Helix 3-paddle with Stage 1 pressure plate (I think) worked well on my old turbo. Pushing 270 lb/ft with no slippage and quite driveable.

Thanks. Seems Demon Tweeks sell them. Over £500 though! :(

Has anyone any experience of the Exedy stuff? Particularly the 'stage 1 organic'. Seems they are readily available and Exedy claim they can support 310ft/lb.

Personally I really like how the Spec clutches drive. Good pedal feel, and nice progressive engagement (even on their 550ft/lb rated clutches). Their 350ft/lb rated stage 1 organic is about the same price as the Exedy equivalent.
    It's a 2.0 inline four that thinks it's a viper v10. What's not to love?

Thanks, that's a new one on me. Having a look now.

Anybody had any experience, good or bad, with these guys?
