    mig welding

    Hi
I would like to get a mig welder; I have seen clarkes ones whose prices start at about 150 Pounds : they mention the maximum metal thickness they weld, for example is between 4 and 6 mm ,but not the minimum ( on my mr2 the roof is 0.8 mm thick : I was wondering if it will work, and also if this kind of equipment is sufficient to do occasional good jobs, and lastly, what amperage do I need ? thanks

There was a thread on this a while back, the outcome was get a gas mig rather than gasless, join lots of dots rather than try and weld a line, and finally get plenty of practices before you do the real thing.
