Thread: Post Your Last 10 Cars!

  1. #21
I've had some crap cars over the last 32 years I have been driving, this is not a complete list as some of the cars I've had were owned for such short periods of time, like a 2.0 capri I had for 3 hours (rust bucket used it for one journey then scrapped it back in the 80's).
this list is not completely in order of ownership I can't remeber exactly the right order !
    1. 1972 Morris marina 1.3 white awful car had it for two weeks, first car I had
    2. 1976 Rover V8 SD1 yellow manual gearbox great but rusty (had this when I was 18!! Second car I had)
    3. 1980 Rover V8 SD1 auto light blue third car after this it gets a bit complicated
    4. 1973 Mini 850 van blue (had this for two months paid £25 for it sold it for £50)
    5. 1972 Hillman imp 850 white, boiled up every trip
    6. 1975 Mini 850 blue hand painted paid £15 for it had it for 3 months sold for £25
    7. 1986 Fiat Uno Turbo very fast but felt like it was going to fall apart at any moment, crashed this one into 4 cars (way back when I was young).
    8. 1983 Vauxhall Cavalier Sri red, great car at the time
    9. 1986 Vauxhall Cavalier Sri Gold, not such a good example of the breed
    10. 1987 Vauxhall Cavalier Sri 130, ok but found out it was two cars welded together
    11. 1998 Ford Fiesta Si green Awful, brought as a write off (C) and put back on the road sold after 2 months
    12. 1997 BMW 325i light blue rust bucket had one month sold as spares
    13. 1995 Ford Escort 1.6 mk V blue awful, just awful
    14. 1987 Lancia delta 1.3 blue, amazingly fast for a 1.3,
    15. 1984 Opel Senator 3.0CD auto gold, 8mpg with your foot down!!! Averaged 19mpg
    16. 1977 Triumph Dolomite sprint red 2.0 great when it ran properly which wasn’t often
    17. 1976 Triumph Dolomite 1500TC white, was given this free, shocks were knacked bounced all over the road scrapped after two weeks
    18. 1966 Morris minor 1000 black great car
    19. 1984 Ford Orion 1.6 grey awful car crap engine
    20. 1991 Ford Sierra 1.8 white awful car hated it
    21. 1994 Fiat Panda 1000 blue great fun everywhere flat out until the head gasket went
    22. 1986 Vauxhall Nova saloon 1.0 silver awful car, felt like it was quicker to walk
    23. 1986 Toyota MR2 mk1a red first MR2 rev’ed and rev’ed great until the rust got to it
    24. 1997 BMW 523i E39 Touring blue, mile muncher great car almost silent at 130mph
    25. 2007 Vauxhall Astra H 1.8 design green/blue wife’s daily, boring but does everything asked of it
    26. 1988 Toyota MR2 mk1b Blue 3VZFE fitted winter 2014 on my driveway, great current daily, steadily being improved, needs paint, love it.

As you can see bit of a mixture with a lot of cheap crappy cars in there!!

I liked the idea of your FIRST ten cars. I don't have pictures of my actual cars, so I just googlie googled a few, so you have a perception of what some of these monstrosities looked like. I chose images that were as close to the actual cars.
You might have to cover your eyes, some of these are really bad.

My first real job was working for plumbers, I bought one of the old work vans when I was 17. It was this, but only in brown. a 1977 Dodge Maxi-Van

My second vehicle arrived when I destroyed the Maxivan. I literally bent it in half, so I bought this little gem. A 1977 Chevy Luv (which was actually made by Isuzu and probably why it stayed running)

The Luv was a great little truck.

My next vehicle was a 1977 (wow, I was stuck on 1977's for a while as a kid eh?) Cutlass Supreme. I drove this car from Detroit to Cleveland where it ultimately barfed up it's transmission and I lost it.
I don't mean I became angry, I mean I can't remember what I did with the car, I think I just left it broken down somewhere and forgot where I left it. The 80's were a strange time. lol

Then I bought one of these. It got about 6 miles to the gallon and was always in four wheel drive. Not like a modern AWD system mind you, more like a farm tractor.
This 360V8 was slow and loud. It's a 1974 Plymouth trail duster.

Although when I was done it looked more like this one:

The Trail Duster? Wish I still had it. We beat the hell out of it. We used to jump that truck. Literally make it launch off the ground. It was indestructible.
All muddy with grass hanging off the underside, Smashed and dented all the way around, it finally gave up it's engine and I was forced to buy this:

This is a bit newer than the one I had, but it looked basically just like this thing. Mine was a 1980 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park Station Wagon.
    Hideous looking thing.

I bought it and on the way home, it overheated, stalled out and needed a jump start three times and then before it got home, it popped a freeze plug out of the block.
Man I was stupid. I scrapped it.

Then I got this little gem.
a 1991 Ford Escort. Great little car.

Return to my roots, I bought one of these. Nowhere near as nice as this one, but it was a Chevy. a 1980 Chevy K5 Blazer.
If you lifted up the floor mats, you could see the road. The one I had was a literal pile of shit and I think I gave it away when I was done.

Next was this, a 1980 Pontiac Starfire. It had a V6 in it but was kind of quick. Not fast, but fun. Mine was blue.
Rear wheel drive. It ran like shit, but it always started until I was driving too fast and tried to take a corner beyond the front tire grip and it under steered itself right into a tree.

I have actual pics of the next one, but they're packed and we're still not moved into the new house yet, so I'll googlie google something close.
Man this thing was cool. it had a 351W V8 and WARN Lockout hubs, a proper lift kit and cool exhaust. It was big, it hauled ass and it went off road like crazy.
Again, mine wasn't this nice, but you get the picture.

I beat the shit out of it and sold it with tiny spare wheels on the front and a blown head gasket, twisted rear axle and a clunking transfer case. We're a bit rough on things.

So I got this. A 1987 Ford Escort. It had 50k on it and was cheap as chips. Ran awesome.
What happened to it? Wow, I smashed it. lol Damn reading back through this, I destroyed a lot of cars...

This one? A 1992 Cutlass Ciera. Shortly after buying it, rod knock, overheated and lost money. Damn Chevy's.

Next was this, and it brings us into the modern era of cars. The was a brand new 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport. 4X4, premium sound and a 318ci V8. Pulled like a freight train and smoked the tires on command.
I sold it after having it 6 years and went into the SUV and family van world. This yellow truck pulled trailers all over the country.

I haven't included any of the car flip deals or the cars that we drove, just the ones that I bought to drive as daily drivers. There were other hot rods and trucks, endless stories about cars but for now, you can laugh at some of these piles of junk!

This one? Was badass. I think it got about 10MPG if you stayed out of it.
