Thread: Turbo ant roll bar

    Turbo ant roll bar

Was out taking pics of the downpipe and new turbo.. so thought I'd get some of the mk2 Turbo ARB setup on the car:

... thats a rev3 turbo ARB (around 18-19mm), with MGF VVC ARB bushes and MGF VVC ARB mounts. The drop links are Ford fiesta (9 quid each!).. a little longer than we would like, but they fit fine and don't look like they're in the way of anything (they're certainly not as close to the boots as they appear to be in the pics!)... I can't think of any reason as to why the extra length would affect the ARB operation???

I'm told its slightly smaller diameter. 17mm I think. So no real appreciable difference for a mk1.5!

    pfft..turbo ant..
i agree with you john, i think the rule of thumb is for the ARB to no lower than horizontal..not sure why cos in my head it does just transfer suspension height so the angle shouldnt matter, maybe the more horizontal the kever the more throw you get..if you get my drift..!

    every bit helps 17-19mm!..
difference in angles neglible, i'll be really sad and do the math if you like.. im sure its not worth it tho.. it'll be a mere mil or two lost before and after the 90 degree mark depending on the rad *shut up me, getting eff'boring again* but then if you want to look at it like that..as soon as it go's over the half way mark..the angle (arc)is increasing and the lift is decreasing same as before the 90!.. so, fat as it is skinny..

call me thick, but whats the mgf bushing for?..upgrade?.. ive got the roll bar and complete cross member inc turbo bushings etc.. can i use the standard kit?

... I didn't get the Turbo mounts or bushes with the bar, it only cost a tenner... the MGF ones are just in place of the normal turbo ones.

i have measured a revision 1 anti roll bar; 18mm (18.2 with paint)

i have measured what i believe to be a revision 3; 19.7mm (with paint) without tbc.
