    Idling issues

Hi guys I know its been a while,But feel free to abuse

Cars a Rev 5 Turbo but I'm guessing there is no difference to a rev 3

    Running a link ECU

    Problem:

The engine at start up idles at normal speed and once engine gets up to temperature the idle speed slowly rises and settles to a bounce of between at about 1600rpm-1700rpm

Wasn't sure if the ECU controlled this ?

I know there's a idle sensor under throttle body but before I start purchasing, replacing, tatting with things would love some feedback on what other others think.

Advanced thanks for any thoughts on this.

    Any codes being thrown?

I know fuck all about these but it sounds temperature related. A engine will normally start up and run at a slightly high rpm until it's warm, then settle. It sounds like it's the wrong way around, so maybe not seeing the temperature rise is throwing it out?

There is a vacuum leak somewhere. Possibly one of the small hoses on throttle body

Thanks mrT and cdwood for you reply's

I had thought hoses myself !

I will go though all the hoses & pipe work and see what I find.

Idles are ECU controlled, and from experience it's possible to have some supremely odd results on a standalone ECU when it comes to idles. Always worth going over the pipework first and having a look for any leaks. If you've still got a stock ECU there swap it in and let it warm up to idle, see if it still does it. That'll tell you fairly quickly if you need to go rummaging in ECU settings.
    It's a 2.0 inline four that thinks it's a viper v10. What's not to love?
