    No probs, red it is, i had a look at the Beams engine harness today, it comes off the engine in the wrong place for a Mk1, so i'll need to rewire it as well.

    Some pretty big issue with this swap it has to be said!

    Today I managed to get the second engine mount off the car I'm glad that job is done ad they are a nightmare to get off the car, I've sprayed the bare metal with some primer to stop it rusting wile sitting outside.

    I have a mate gettinge some 5mm plate so I can get the new mounts cut ready for when I get the jig from Paul.

    So far I'm feeling very happy with the progress but it's scary that my car has no engine mounts left on it.

    Primers no good for preventing rust it absorbs water

    I didn't know that I will give it a spray of top coat tomorrow.

    I use Hammerite rustproofing primer. Not cheap but pretty Damn good.

    Exciting stuff I can't wait to see what it looks like once the intake is on the other way round.

    Yeah I that rust primer too that's why I thought it would be alright.

    Yeah, that should be ok. Watch for any rust appearing, I don't think there will be if it was painted dry.

    Yeah painted dry and the engine lid is closed so should stop most rain getting too it.
