MR2 front shock disasembly

Hey,

I am replacing springs and shocks on my MR2 but having trouble with front shock disassembly.



the part that is shown here in the picture is rusted a lot, i managed to unbolt the bolt, but the mount just wont come off, i tried hammering it off etc with no luck. Any ideas what i could try mates?

I had this with a set I took off. Plus gas round the bearing from both sides and a hammer. The top mount is probably very goosed and the strut probably isn't much better.

i see, i might be better off just getting a new set of used fronts i guess that aren't as bad...

I looked into replacing mine for yellow Koni inserts...

What I found out is that buying complete yellow Koni struts + H&K lowering springs (20mm) only added 40 Euro's per strut compared to just the inserts....
