The BEAMS 3S-GE is such a sweeter engine than the GTE, and with the S-series gearbox, it should weigh a chunk less as a package. And as you say, power delivery is much more suited to a mid-engined car IMO. No reason why a solid 220hp isn't on the cars with a healthy engine and good ECU.

Started the teardown last night and made some good progress. Got most of the wiring undone, airbox, battery, driveshafts and exhaust removed. Plan on draining the fluids on Thursday and dropping out the 4AGE then making time to clean out all of the grim in the engine bay. Unfortunately I found some rust forming in the rear quarter seams in the trunk :(
