With the EB60 installed in my Mk1 and using my Mk1 shifter, there is no provision for a lockout to keep you from getting into reverse accidentally. I added a spring over the cable linkage on the right cable. I installed a few washers to get the tension correct and it helps keep you out of reverse by adding a little more force when you intentionally mean to go into reverse.

Please see these 3 pictures to get an idea of what I am suggesting. Of course you can only slip the spring on if you cut and thread the cable rod. BTW, those were custom ordered 9 foot long cables and I still had to cut them.
