Surely it would crack under high temps though? If not then I'm happy as larry
If you think about it, the engine itself should never reach high temps.
Your water should never boil (less than 100*c) and your oil will be no good beyond 120*c...
I've zapped mine with an IR heat sensing gun after a ... *ahem* .. hard run and i couldn't find any part of the actual beyond 80*c... Obviously the exhaust manifolds & heatshields are beyond that though.
BodgeSport uses this stuff:-
£6.99 a tin, the lacquer is a few quid cheaper. Lots of light coats (dusting) and a shiny coat to seal it.
In all fairness you can get away with regular paint on the rockets and plenum.

Oh and don't spend hours wire brushing the plenum.
