I discovered many moons ago that a Rover 216 (the Honda engined ones) share the same alternator as a Mk1, if it helps.

All right put the handbags down ladies, were all happy wot ever club you can get a cheap alternator from, and these days lets all just try and get along with all the mr2 clubs we know who we are (the black sheep of the family) and the other clubs know what we are like, we should all share and try and help members from all the mr2 community.
Lets just chalk this up as a friendly bit of banter, personally I've found the other parts of the community mellowing in attitude towards us which can only be a good thing.
Hope you find a cheap alternator which ever site it's on.
