    Drifty's 1MZ-FE AW11 Track Hack

    Greetings from Sydney...
I started on this swap about 6 months ago.
    Slowly getting there.

Got this old rusty Adub for $500 with 6 months rego.

Rego ran out Jan 2011 so ripped out driveline and sold for $500 :P

Then kept an eye on Pickles Auctions for a few months until this came up.

    A dead 97 V6 Conquest Camry with e153 manual...
Ended up getting it for $400 fall of hammer.

Nice will be watching this closely.
My suggestion would be to start thinking about proper shealding of rear bank exhaust manifold while the engine still out, i bet im not the only one interested in a proper solution for this problem area. Would gladly participate in idea throwing part of it :D.
P.S. Is your engine ignition wasted spark (3 coils) or COP (6 coils)?

    Yep runs wasted spark.

    more catch-up pics...

flying the 1mz out of the camry.

1st test fitting of the 1mz to get a rough idea of what the engine mounts will have to look like.

Bit of a mishap dragging the car around by the hoist while up in the air

After the test fit decided it would be easier to make up an adjustable stand to place the engine where it needs to be in space and then just lower the car over it while fab the mounts.

A few driveshafts I had collected for mix and match...

Installed a walbro while the engine was out again.

also decided to give myself a bit more room to work...

engine back in and rear suspension and driveshafts all reassembled.

    deleting interior and sound deadening...
no dry ice here pussies... chipped it all off with a screwdriver.

    Pulling out the dash

Dash supports gone ready to rip out all the wiring

a re-spray inside, all dash wiring deleted (about 8kgs of wires)

Made this new control panel to replace ignition switch key barrel.

running new wires for cabin electrics, consolidation all fuse/junction boxes to one 8-way fuse block.

Knocked up a dodgy temporary zorst out of Camry leftovers... just to keep it (sort of) quiet while I get it running.

Joining the relevant 1MZ stuff to the AW11 body loom.

rest of the wires thru the firewall to the Adaptronic mounted behind the passenger seat...

cover and pod on prettied up for a while...

True 3 inch intake. made a new pipe thru to the boot. the 2 3/4in sizing is a pain in the ass.
Decided to run the pod in the boot in the stock filter location.
