Thread: MR 2 Spyder 4th gen 3SGTE

Hey Paul, I'm using a 90-93 mk2 tranny. I should be able to use that with the gen 4 engine, right?

Im having problems bolting the tranny and the engine. I recently bought a new fly wheel and now the clutch isn't lining up :-(. What's an ideal combination to make the damn thing work? Frustration is now kicking in, ugh!!!

I know I have had fun putting the gearbox on the mr2 engine in the past. I thought it was a mismatch on the input shaft / clutch plate, turns out it just really needs to be centred.

Try the clutch plate on the input shaft, and try offering up the gearbox without the clutch and flywheel fitted.

Should give you some idea where things are catching.

    Hth.

    Our swaps were MR2 Mk2 N/A gearbox and 3VZ V6 engine.

Not quite the same as yours but I figured the issue of snugging the box home might be the same!

That looks like the mismatch between turbo and N/A clutch parts.

What have they sent you exactly?
