    1mz vs 1mz vvti vs 3vz vs 2gr-fe vs 2gr-fse graphs

they were having the weekly argument over on mr2oc about the relative power of the engines and i decided to make a composite graph of all the horsepower curves and figured you guys may be interested in seeing it:

the source material is all listed on the original post: http://www.mr2oc.com/showthread.php?...20#post4774420 but the short of it is these are all SAE-NET numbers officially from Toyota. (that means stock exhaust, stock intake, all accessories and recommended fuel)

here's a better graph instead. it's easier to see what's going on looking at the torque:

Looking at that i've just got to build a 2gr-fe/fse hybrid someday!

The only thing i'd definately question about that second graph is the 3s-gte torque output being higher than the 1mz/3vz engines at 3000rpm, that can't be right surely? In the real world driving scenario the 3s-gte is only just starting to make boost at that revs, it just doesn't seem right. I would have said the 3s-gte would be making similar torque to the V6's at more like 5000rpm, but i'm only guessing via the ass dyno there.

Excellent to see them compiled like that.

I was going to say the same as Paul, the torque just doesn't look very stock 3S-GTE like.

Really nice to see the engines all together though, nice work.

i suspect the 3s-gte torque curve would look exactly like that if you got into it in 4th gear full throttle at 1000RPMs and let the boost build as early as it could. but nobody drives like that :)

and yes, that 2gr-fse simply looks amazing
