Lsd removal making me mad!

Afternoon all. Picked up a mk3 gearbox for the lsd but... Can't get it out. The driveshaft end will not let go of the lsd :'(

What is that going into the diff on the second picture?? Picture isn't clear enough.

You just need to drive it out with a bit of force and many taps to shock it out. They can be a complete cunt!

Get a length of wood onto the cv casing and hit it with a large hammer. It should shock it out eventually. Levering can work too but watch u don't put too much stress on funny angles and jigger the diff.

I believe it's the end of the mk3 driveshaft.

Aye, it's the CV joint cup, the 3 "balls" sit inside it on the splined driveshaft.

Crowbar, wood , hammer and pop goes the cv then the diff should come out.

While we're on the subject i found a shortcut way to remove a Mk3 LSD unit in under 2 minutes from the gearbox, that would make a good video, in fact i'll do that.... should be entertaining if nothing else.
