S54 starter motor in E153

Hello again gents!

I'm gearing up for a turbo upgrade! It looks like I've just scored a 28,000km LSD E153 and some axles in exchange for my left nut. :eusa_sick:

However, no starter motor. Can I use a S54 starter motor with a E153 gearbox.

Now, I just need to score some hubs...

Being different series of gearboxes i would imagine they don't fit. If you look on eBay uk they list GE or GTE starters but never GE/GTE

Yes you can, they are fully interchangeable.

EDIT: The camry V6 starter even works on a S54 or E153.... all the same.

EDIT EDIT: Except the 1mz starter, that has a terminal that fouls the Mk2 gearboxes, 3vz starters are fine.

Thanks a lot Paul! That's at least one turbo part I don't need to dig up to get the E153 to work in my car! You wouldn't happen to have a pair of turbo hubs lying around though would you? They seem to be impossible to get down here.

have you tried tex or essdub on the local ownersclub? both seem to be having a clearout....
