Thread: Rounded nut on thermostat housing

If you're rounding lots of nuts chief, check out your sockets are in good nick.

Sounds daft but i've seen some sockets in nasty conditions, simply made of metal not strong enough for the job.

The new halfrauds pro range are good for the weekend mechanic and come with a life time guarantee, I've only bust the mini knuckle socket and they just replaced it there and then no fuss just here you go.

The sockets i've been using are impact sockets from halfrauds, hard as anything! I used to have a crappy set from B&Q, I split 2 sockets and sheared the extension bar trying to undo the wishbone bolts on the Mondeo!

I once broke an impact airgun socket that was from snap on trying to get a bolt of an engine, the air gun wouldn't shift it so a breakers bar and a 6ft steal inch thick tube finally cracked it also cracked the socket, the snapon guy couldn't beleive what he was looking at he had to write a report out and send it to head office for testing lol.
