So it's the best "drivers car" (suspension geometry) with the WORST engine! It's a runaround / trackday car (pending the Mk1 saga being resolved) although it's VERY straight, and needs to stay cheap, but some scrapyard upgrades are in order!
So what should I be looking for? The ones I've got in mind are:
- Gen 3 3SGE = £100ish, what else would I need for this swap? ECU, engine loom, more...?
- LSD gearbox....or welded diff!!! :naughty:
- Later/Turbo anti roll bars.
- Brakes...I'll "sort" this one!
- Rear SW20 spoiler (the seller has one ready-painted to match, is there an easy way to drill the boot holes spot-on?)
- Will later springs/shocks fit, and are they harder/lower?
- What models should I try to get the strut braces from?
- Is there a faster rack I can fit? It's not power steering, would a power rack be faster (not plumbed in)?
Oh and guess what the last part of the seller's postcode was? #### 1UZ !!!! It's a sign...
