    Nod's SW20 Project !

Now I have a nice little White UK Rev1 to play with I can start a thread. No idea what I'm going to do to it first though, use it as a donkey for testing all my electronic goodies first I would imagine. Eventually it will hopefully end up as the V12 Twin Turbo 5 Speed Paddle Shifted 4WD car I have designed.

In the mean time if anyone is in desperate need of blue interior parts PM me as my first job will be to strip it to the bone to get the weight out of it.

Now then about this M series BMW V12 engine (We shall only concern our selves with the M70 and M73N). First a little info :

Total length [end of crank pulley to rear block face] 29.25"
Top of motor, widest point at valve covers 19.5"
Bottom of oil pan sump to crank centre line 8.5"
Bottom of oil pan sump to highest point on valve covers 25.5"
Bottom of oil pan to bottom of sump 3.5"
Rear block face to crank end 1.0"
Rear of block to oil pan sump 14.5"

    M70

    Displacment : 4987.5cc
    Bore : 84mm
    Stroke : 75mm
    Power : 295 nhp
    Torque : 331 lbs/ft (450 Nm)
    CR : 8.8:1 (WooHoo !)
Combustion Chamber Volume : 53.3 cc
    Intake Valve : 42mm
    Exhaust Valve : 35mm

    M73

    Displacment : 5381.6cc
    Bore : 85mm
    Stroke : 79mm
    CR : 10:1 (Boo !)
    Power : 326 bhp
    Torque : 361 lbs/ft (490 Nm)

The M73N has better rods (snap caps), head ports, cams and inlet manifold design as well as single ecu rather than twin 6 cylinder units set 60deg apart with dual pick ups.

The bottom of the engine bay length of an MR2 is 750mm the engine 743mm so no serious intrusion into either cabin or boot space may be necessary.

Johnny, you need to add BMW V12 and 4WD to the conversion options in the User CP ("Other" doesn't sound very exciting) :D
