Road test clips

Couple of road test clips on the way back from the North East mk1 mr2 owners club meeting on sunday 8th january 2006.

In the first and second clips you can actually make out the banging from the diff and the knocking through the car as we turn into/off the road.

5th gear acceleration up long steep hill. Approx 13psi boost. This is deceptively fast! (3 digit figures ) - 460kb divx/xvid

Overtaking a car off a roundabout - 361kb divx/xvid

All clips are from my digital camera and are limited by the amount of memory it has until it saves the clip to flash card - so none are that long i'm afraid... the microphone is pretty poor too I'm afraid :(

I'll see if I can dig out my old Hi8 camcorder and get some decent footage.

PS. Take into account that this is my father driving, not me :D

I don't know why but it all seems very tame..... almost like the camera has slowed things down.... The engine seems pretty quiet as well.... Good to see one out and about

Yeah, it has that affect, as said the microphone is pants and has picked up very little of the engine and turbo noise. If you were to look at the speedo for clip 3, 4 and 5 it would give the game away

I think a decent recording would give a better impression, tbh.

what did you record it on?

I want to do some video in my car but my mobile phone is crap.... I've got a sony digi camera but I don't really know how good the video is yet.

It's my old Canon Powershot A40... a 2MP digital still camera from about 4 years ago! It can only do two video modes: 320x240 of up to 20 seconds, or 140x120 of 30 seconds. Pretty crap for video... but it's a decent still camera. The mic is dreadful; it picks up virtually no hi frequencies... so everything tends to be a muddy, bassy mush.

Can you see the images? They're in the same folder as the vids, so if you can see one you should be able to see them all.

i can see the still pics on this thread but when i click the links i get 404....could it be something my end? the power adaptor for my router decided to blow up this morning which was kind of it,im now running it off a maplins universal one (same V and A output as old).Maybe ive got a setting that needs tweeking?

nope - just dump your cache and try again paul.
