AFM DLI GZE knock diagnostics / code 52

Are there other continuity tests/resistance tests I can perform
with the knock sensor threaded in and plug connected
that will help determine where the fault is.

    Details:
    JDM AFM DLI GZE.
    Throwing Code 52.
This means the ECU cannot hear normal noise, correct?

    Non starndard info:
    Walbro pump, .5 over, 8.0:1.

Based on searching the forum over the years the causes can be:
-Bad KNK signal wire from knock plug to ECU, damaged or disconnected.
-Shielding on Signal wire not effective, damaged or disconnected from earth bundle at ECU.
    -Sensor is dead, loose plug.

To diagnose the wiring I was going to attempt the following.

-Check KNK wire has <5ohm resistance between Knock plug and ECU plug
-Check for NO continuity between signal wire and shielding wire.
-Check shielding has continuity to E1 and has low resistance.
-Check for continutity and low resistance between shielding wire at ECU plug and shielding in wire at Knock sensor plug end.

    Prior diagnostic efforts:
The ECU was replaced with an ECU from a flawless running AFM GZE.
The knock sensor was replaced with one from a flawless running BT20v.
The GZE sensor worked in the 20v with no faults being thrown.
Therefore GZE sensor is still good.
The 20v sensor still left CODE 52 on the GZE after blanking the ECU.
    Therefore its not the Sensor?
