tried starting again runs ok but battery dash light stays on and so does engine bay fan light? battery could be a little flat or could be alternator not charging,

yes wellys right, you have no charging circuit rob,it musnt be wired up properly OR the alternator is duff, heres how to check the job.....

take the multiplug off the alt, switch ignition on and check for battery voltage at all 3 terminals,if one or more has no voltage its a wiring problem. If all three show battery voltage check the thick white charging wire has continuity to the battery +.If all of these check out and the battery shows less than 13v with the engine running then the alternator itself is goosed.

Oh the cooling fan light comes on too as its on the same circuit as the alt wiring.
