    Tommys 2GR-FE V6 swap

Ohhh looky what we have here....

Freshly imported from the US,one crash damaged Toyota avalon....

The money shot.... 2gr-fe,3.5ltr alloy v6 with VVTi....270bhp before mods.

We spent most of today stripping the interior to dig all of the wiring harness out for the ecu and immobiliser.

The plan on this build is to keep the fly-by-wire throttle set up as well and wire up the stock ecu.We hope to have the engine out of the avalon by the end of the week.

This is going into a 99 mk2 NA owned by a guy called tommy who lives in norway.... no doubt tommy will be along shortly to say hi.

If i could find a cheap 2gr in the UK id almost definately sell my supercharged 1mz!

Had a quick butchers at the avalon sedan yesterday, I think I will be popping over "The Coffeeshop" on a regular basis. Can't wait to see this one finished.

drove one of these in the good ole usa pick up was quick even with a slush box ,was doing 90 and going past cars like they were standing still before i noticed the speed limit was 55 ooopsie, wondered why the tomtom kept going bong bong bong every cpuple of minutes.

would have one of these me self if the cost wasn't so prohibitive at the moment.

Seen your thread yesterday, well done on the build

Is this engine available in any of the lexus models over here, wiki call it up on the RX but just wondering if anyone has more info on what written off cars to look for.

Would it work with the 3VZ mounting points and what g/box is used. Oh and I am only fishing for info no plans.

    Thanks.

here's the application list for that motor
    # 2005+ Toyota Avalon
    # 2006+ Toyota RAV4 V6
    # 2007+ Toyota Previa V6
    # 2007+ Toyota Camry V6
    # 2007+ Toyota Sienna
    # 2008+ Toyota Highlander (rumored to be available without immobilizer system)
    # 2009 Toyota Venza (AWD)

    # 2007 Lexus ES 350
    # 2007 Lexus RX 350

    # 2010 Lotus Evora (likely to be snappier/sportier tune)

my 1994 E153 transmission mounts right up to it, you just need to helicoil one hole in the motor.
