**hayward & Scott!! Please Read!!**

Hey TB Members,

Guys i've had a conversation today with an outcome that might be of intrest to alot of you....

conversation was a follows:-

I rang "Hayward & Scott" today.


For those of you that dont already know they are the custom exhaust making specialists that are responsible for the very ferrari sounding Mr2 that is on youtube that appears in one of Woodsport's (paul wood's company - now legendary!) videos.

the video can be seen by typing in woodsport on youtube i believe, and its got to be one of the best sounding mr2's i've ever heard!!

since the release of that video many people have wanted that exhaust sound and i know alot of people from many forum's have searched for it....

finally the exhaust was tracked back to hayward and scott in essex!

Now many members including TB owners have contacted Hayward and scott many with very different answers and results!

some saying the company had been abit off with them and wernt very helpful!

However i rang them today and turned on the salesmen charm while remaining very polite and greatful of the guys time!!

I found hayward and scott to be a good company that were helpful and honest and was prepared to try and sort something special for TB.

The result is that Hayward and scott are looking to produce a Exhaust system offering the same ferrari styled sound for the 3vz-fe engine Mk2 mr2 owners that will be available as a delivered/off the shelf item!!

so no more, travelling down to essex to get one custom made on site, instead you'll be able to order it... allowing people further north or south then myself that are unable to drive such distances to see hayward and scott in person the opportunity of such a fine exhaust system.

I then spoke to the guy about the vast demand for the hayward and scott product and approached the gentlemen about the idea of TB being offered an exclusive "GROUP BUY!!!".

To which the guy said he cant see that being a problem and if i'd like to stay in regular contact with him he'll assist me in getting one up and running!!

woo woo!!! A TB EXCLUSIVE!!!

Just to clear up the details, hayward and scott dont do a 3vz-fe exhaust system for the mk2 mr2's just yet...they have only done mk2 mr2 turbo exhausts in the past really...which is what the ferrari sounding one was!!

But they have a 3vz-fe mr2 going down to have a custom one made with them next month, and the guys now fully aware of the popularity of the 3vz-fe engine swap!!

*Note - if the 2.0L Turbo exhaust can sound that ferrari like, bear in mind that N/A cars are usually always louder due to the mechanics of it all.

and the 3L engine giving off that already ferrari-esque kinda growls when throttles open wide up..can you imagine what the potential sound of the HAYWARD AND SCOTT 3VZ-FE mk2 mr2 exhaust system will sound like!!?

The poor guy even hinted/said in order to cut him sum slack,

(apparently all us mr2 owners have been calling daily with request for supply of such an exhaust, that he feels it best for his company to produce one that could be brought "off the shelf" as it'll put an end to the vast amount of calls he recieves!! lol) - hahaha TB BUYING POWER!!

Now you can expect this group buy not to be ready for a good month or two yet...but if theres anyone that fancies one or has any questions, please feel free to make yaself known.

I have organised group buys on exhausts previously and found them very sucessful, also i reckon i could negoiate a very good price for all us TB members.

so if you liked that hayward and scott system and would like one, or are looking for an exhaust system soon and wanna hold on for one, please shoot me a pm, i'll then print these and file them and use the volumes of Tb member requirements to organise you guys a rock bottom rate!!!

prices TBC, But i cant imagine you wont be dissapointed!

The impression i get mate is that i'll have the option of wether we want full systems or just back boxes etc.

its a Bridge i do intend to cross at sum point with the company, and that bridge crossing will be judged by the response generated by this thread.

the guys @ Hayward and Scott were very friendly and helpful and im sure the possibilites for manifolds and back boxes will be an option.

my thoughts were this...

some of us will want full systems, so its worth me getting full systems made..

others will want just back boxes for sure simplicity!

I think back boxes would suit the requirements of alot [/B]woodsports[/B] customers, as it will allow paul an opportunity to use them in exsistance with their pre - exsisting systems etc,

(ps - im not speaking on behalf of paul, thats his buisness and he makes them kinda decision, im just implying possibilities here)

Im guessing alot of TB members will just want back boxes anyway to keep cost down especially on the group buy etc.

so i think best thing to do is...

see if hayward and scott are happy to produce a full system in two parts, both manifolds and back box..then try and get a group buy done on back boxes with the option to upgrade your group buy purchase to accomodate the manifold also if you wish.

obviously i'll be aiming to get rock bottom prices on both items, so it shud work out to be a very good Group buy!

im unaware of the sheer volume of people wanting these exhausts, so i intend to make note of the numbers in order to get a stupidly good deal on them, obviously the more people the likelihood of lower pricing!

But sales is something im known for, and i work for a huge international company now and have won national awards for my success in the sales industry so im pretty confident i can organise something special for all those at TB,.

I use to be a member of other MR2 sites, but there tended to be alot of bitching and catty remarks between members, so i never stayed!

however TB is totally different, a unique, fresh, postive site, where everyone seems very friendly and helpful and most people share similar view.... mr2's and lots of power!! lol :thumbsup:

so im very keen to keep this a TB Exclusive as i cant be bothered hunting for customer for this Group buy on other forums.

thats cool.. yeah i'll be keeping you guys updated as and when more info is passed to me..at the moment im just gathering peoples intrest and building a professional Rapour with Hayward and Scott.

They seem a pretty cool company that there craftmanship seems second to none!!

atm the Group buy is very vague, its hard to get peoples intrest without exact prices, ideas of what the exhaust will look like or sound like etc etc.

i think its gonna be a case of me driving to essex to get pictures of a prototype that they intend to knock up, possibily having the exhaust all fited and various video's/soundclips etc etc.

so this group buy will definately take shape over the next month or so..
in the next month Hayward and Scott intend to fit their first exhaust setup to a mk2 mr2 3V-FE engine mr2, to whom this customer is im not completely sure, but if i can find out i might see if its possible that he could supply a few pictures and videos etc.

i'd of had one fitted myself already but my Cars currently in paul @ woodsports hands.

theres still the occasional work in bold txt, but its not hayward and scott so its not promoting/advertising their company or anything mate.

Ooh just noticed i got woodsport in bold...oh bugger it!! lol

ohwell its not like we dont all know who woodsport are or how bl**dy good the company/paul is.. so it'll have to stay! lol
