It's horses for courses in my book. There's been lots of threads on other forums that have ended up in slagging matches. Thankfully, none of the nuggets have made there way here (except for one or two ;) ).

They both have their plus points. It's best for you to sample both and then persue your own objectives. Either way, there's LOTS of support here!

what he said..
simply no easy answer to this, cos there isnt one..!
comparisons can be drawn but none will answer the question of which is best..
in fact they are so different if you owned both it would be like owning two completely different cars..

moved to 'general banter'

I agree with Nik on this one.

Yeah the 3s is good for shit your pants balls out evil power but the V6 is good for that pulling torque and its ultimate untapped potential.

Personally I think they are both as good as each other with their own plus and minus points so would never make a decision on this myself.

All I know is both are better than the 4age in my eyes which altho not a bad engine it was really meant to be in a lightweight kit car not an mr2 :)

If it was like for like, as in 3VZ-GTE v's 3SGTE, the V6 would win hands down.

And for a straight out the box swap, the V6 is cheaper and more reliable.

But ask anyone with a mk1.5, that turbo rush is addictive.

I like the n/a v6 as much as a flat 4 turbo. its going to be a tight race on that day.. I hope its me in the driving seat!. its been a looooong time comin.. so when will the big day be? down the strip... the quarter... the origonal californian drag style... who wants it :-) ? I can't see it happening at jae due to lack of track.. I'd really like to see the first one.

Hey Johnny I don't go to the pub every night. I actually didn't go last monday :)

Ok I had had a heavy weekend and a long drive but thats not the point.

Adam. If my engine doesn't blow up in shakedown testing I'll be happy to take it down the strip against the turbo both before and after I manage to sort turbos for the V6. Ok need to build the car yet but shouldn't be too much longer till thats started :)

they might have the oval circuit as they did last year at JAE, I'm sure we could persuade them to let 1 of each on and either time it or just a straight race round the basic circuit?

both engines left stock its v6 hands down, proven to be quicker up the 1/4... but tuning the 3s is sooo easy it easily overtakes a stock v6 after that.

But then factor in other things,reliability,torque,sound...oh god the sound! and just the damn driveability of the things,im a total V6 freak but i love the 3s as well...a very hard decision.

As soon as we have perfected the v6 turbo though thats game set n match. :)

Well get it in then lol

It was just Friday over here so i hope you've been working on it:poke2:

But if you havnt then.....:smack:

BTW would a Supercharged(Twinscrew) V6 be better then a Twinturbo V6? :eh:

OlberJ

Better is a relevant term. Both would be awesome but horses for courses.

Think about what you want in the end and work backwards.
