Here is my list....please let me know if ANYTHING is missing...

Head Gaskets
Cam Belt
Oil Filter
5 Ltr Oil
15 ltrs of Coolant

I have spoken to Paul W and FourVeeSix about the Flywheel (NA) and Engine Mounts, and I may be looking at getting a lightweight flywheel...

What kind of AFM adapter do you need?
I have an HKS one that allows fitting of a cone type air filter to a rev1/2 turbo AFM, if thats any use?

midnightraven

I dont know if the v6 AFM is the same as the Turbo AFM...

You missed off an engine crane and trolley jack, but i think you got most of the rest of it alright...:D

Already have the engine hoist, chains, shackles, load leveler, engine stand, and a few jacks for good measure!

All courtesy of cantfindausername!

What you waiting for then!

midnightraven
13-01-2007, 22:53
No difference with the mounting points, itll go straight on. :)

So I am right in saying that with the turbo AFM adapter the HKS induction kit from my NA will fit the V6?

Now back on track to my shopping list, I have emailed BreakersYard to source the engine, but have found the majority of the bits I can get through Toyota...am I right in saying that?

ok i will have a look into that, thanks FourVeeSix.

What do I do about the exhaust downpipe? I have a mongoose on my NA which I would like to keep..unless anyone has any suggestions of a better exhaust system for the V6?

You'll need some good manifolds made if you want it to sound like mine! :)

Murf
14-01-2007, 08:50
Cant be 100% certain on that (help anyone?) but the turbo air filter adapter will fit right on the V6 afm, you may be lucky!

I'll measure the outside diameter of the adapter and you go measure the inside diameter of your existing filter :)

Paul Woods

the turbo air filter adapter will fit straight onto the V6 AFM.

Murf

Ok, the outer diameter of the adapter is 70mm, is that any use?

arrrrrrrrrrr goodo...another v6 in the South !!!!!!!

top banana !

either get yourself a v6 down pipes or get an exhaust man to make you one up, but that'll be expensive. i am gonna get the exhaust re-done so its less restrictive, i'll let you know who much and what its like.

Sorry Raven that word is pronounced as "WhyMock" or "I'M-a-COCK" in these parts. (Though in a caring, we're all equal, MR2 owners in the global village that is inter-club relations kind of a way.) :slap: :moon:

Hope that helps,

Owen.

FPMSL...I'm not a huge fan of that place. I find everyone I lot more friendly here.
Since I have been with Ant, cantfindausername, I have wanted more and more to learn about performance in cars than just making them look "pretty"

:hmm: I'm trying to find the words to say "atta-girl" but without sounding like a patronising pilock, a sad geek or a dirty old man. Care to help me out?

Yeah - and mine had almost hit the 200,000 mark when I bought it. Its gone over that now. :eek2:

I did have my oil pump, water pump and valve stem seals changed as a precaution though, as well as the normal head gaskets and stuff. :D

These are tough beasties..

Erm... I think it was... :o

Was the closest one I could find near me, and it was only £400 with tax/mot too. Does the job though. Shortest amount of time I have ever owned a car too - thanks to Peebs' and FourVeeSix's stirling efforts it was scrapped well within a week of me picking it up. lol

Sounds like most chavs going from their Novas and onto their first RWD MK2 :hidesbehi Glad we don't have any of those types on TB.

I wholeheartedly agree Tony, seems to be self regulating without the mods even having to do anything. Long live TB and all who inhabit her!
