Hey All :jump:
I have 5 days left of holiday from work untill January, and am planning to use the time to work on the project.
In order to get alot done to the car in that time, I feel I need to be 100% prepared and ready to go!
Johnny has been chatting to me over MSN and I have my shopping list which has been aproved by the big PW...
V6 engine (with loom and ECU)
both head gaskets to be replaced
cam belt to be changed
new oils,filters,antifreeze etc.
A new clutch kit, if possible - or re-use existing.
A custom/modified flywheel (needs to be machined).
A bespoke drivers engine mount (see Paul @ TB)
Induction kit and AFM adapter
Exhaust downpipes modified to fit your current exhaust system
Camry tacho head to be transplanted into mk2 clocks
What can I prepare in advance? :driving:
Also what can I do to make it extra special? Is it worth doing work on the head?

Like a port and polish thing. How much work is that and should you leave that to a workshop?
Definately leave it to a workshop, with a flow bench. If you over do it, you can do more harm, and thats irreversable.
It's ?750 quid, or mine lot is, and thats with the 3 angle grind valve job. If you can do. But's a luxury more than a necesity, but it's a 10-15% increase in power straight away. Couple that with a good down pipe and exhaust, there's no reason why you can't get 235bhp in standard N/A form.
I'm getting it, but I have no sense :)

ok Clylinder heads...check...
right now I need a step by step guide of how to do this...its like surgery! or maybe that's just because I'm watching Grey's Anatomy...
well, the spannering is where the others step in - I'm just ok on theory :)
I'd get the mounting adapter plate from 4V6, get the flywheel mod done by him also.
get yer gaskit set, timing belt/tensioners
clutch
Traffic film remover- you'll want to clean stuff while its apart.
paints and stuff if you wanna make it look nice.
Get some ally plate to make the blanking plates for the EGR
if you get the engine in a camry, it'll probably take 5 days to get it out/ strip it, clean paint up. unless your really good at spannering.

headbolts are apparently stretch bolts, they may or may not be reusable; I couldnt' get a definate answer so as they're for bugger all, I changed them as a precaution.
The yanks talk about torquing them up to 2x recommended torque settings, and they are fine. Apparently, they are strong enough up to 5x torque settings... check the V6 section on MR2 Board, there's more information there :)
I'd always change the headbolts. Not worth risking it. Even for a biscuit.

Ok so I need to look at headbolts..check...
Is there a step by step guide anywhere on here for the V6 conversion...:coffee:
The dowload section (http://twobrutal.co.uk/index.php?page=dlds) is the place to go.

excellent, just been reading the V6MR2 download for the MK1...great bed time reading....
You will need to keep the gold spacer when you remove Camry flexplate for the flywheel mod to work properly. See this thread... http://twobrutal.co.uk/showthread.php?t=3297&page=4
Use the info in this thread to get your fly modded, or send it to me or Tony. Same goes for an engine mount too.
Certainly getting there Raven.
