View Full Version : Woo Hoo...!
Got myself a 3VZ-FE today.
I visited the local scrappy to collect the ST205 4pots (ahem...?25/each) they're bloody huge! Anyway I thought I'd ask if he'd any Camry's in. Just the one, mostly stripped. Quick phone call to the Jiffmeister to see just what I needed off it. ?120 later, I got the engine, loom, COR & ECU. Is there anything else I need from the Camry?
He's also got a MR2 n/a gear box/shafts, wants ?120 for that too. Is that the going rate? And am I better off waiting for a tubby box?
Besides engine mounts, gasket set what else do I need on the shopping list?
:driving:
Nice one Jasper, sounds like you got a bargain mate. The n/a box will do definately do the job. That would give you time to look out for a tubby box with LSD if you fancy going that route.

Spot on Jaspy mate!!! The fun begins now....
Wicked Jasp, go go go man. What a bargain !
A tubby box (with LSD) would be nice, but the na box will certainly stand up to the job, just make sure you dcdadn get hold of an NA flywheel to go with it :)
Cheers Guys...looking forward to the scraped knuckles & grinder shrapnel in the eyes lol
No need to clear room at Ace's just yet Ki, not collecting until the end of the month so you should have yours finished by then....
Twas the Jap scappy in Bushey (Watford). Probably shouldn't be classsed as local, about 30 mins + drive but seeing as I do about 2K miles/week I class anywhere local within about an hour lol

jasp great news, make sure you get the vacuum cannister from under the battery tray,coilpack/ignitor off the inner wing and all afm stuff/pipework....oh and dont forget to chop the 4th ecu plug off with the ecu...it goes to the cars body harness and you will never remove that, chop about 6" of wire with the 4th plug.
Its going in a mk1 so need for the clocks or COR,your mk1 cor will do.
Mk2na box n shafts will work grand. well done that man.
