sorry i cant help mate! had to scrap all my stuff when i moved. all i have left is a couple of pistons, could measure the inside of those if it helps?
Of the piston, i know it's 87.5mm just wondering if the bore is still in spec after all the honing i've been doing . The crank looks like it's never been machined but thought before i go and order all the bearings and rings i had better make sure , don't want to torque it all up and find it locks up solid  Been googling and can't find anything
all i have left is a couple of pistons I know where to come when i've blown a hole through mine
if it helps on a 1.6 n/a the bore size is asked to be between 3 and 4 thou over piston size
compression of 3vzfe and 4age is roughly the same aswell so i wouldnt have thought any major difference on bore clearence, also busting the glaze on bore takes negligable material off the diameter. if you was upto and around 0.075 - 0.10mm oversize with the bore that sounds good to me, sticking new rings in?
Ah that might help , i've put one of the old rings down the bore to see what kind of gap i've got . Looks ok , i seem to remember from my apprenticeship days something about 3 thou for every inch of piston dia :eh:
erm, sounds a bit loose to me matey!.. 12 thou clearence will basically set your sump alight ;) . these old forged engines have larger clearences i understand. id be well happy with 0.075, although i'm sure it will be 0.10-0.12mm with a hone and clean and general age!
ok have checked the 5s-fe and 3sgte , they are both 3 to 4 thou clearence and so is ye-olde 4age.. so thats what your aiming for, it wouldnt be any different for the 3vz
erm, sounds a bit loose to me matey!.. 12 thou clearence will basically set your sump alight  it was many moons ago and the workshop foreman made me rebuild a 1920s straight six , no wonder it was a bit smokey lol Still think i'm going to have plenty of blow by coz i might have got hold of twins .......... er T3's that is :jump:

Sent you a pm Gary
If anyone else needs such specs I can send copies from engine repair manual
i'd be most interested to know the specs please jb..
If it help, you can halve the figures givien out by most information, i.e. mauyfacturers or manuals (hainse ETCDD)
I sent a set of twin pot barrels off, from my 350LC, to a tuners once. Roger Keen it was. I saw a write up on him in a bike mag, he was a TZ (RD based) 2 stroke bike tuner. He halved the .28000 clerance to .14000 on those barrels and the resutls were superb. The engine (an RD350LC) is still runing to this day 6 years on (used to last me 2000 miles)
