Hello, last week I buy a 1992 Camry with 3VZ-FE engine and 188hp.
Price was 2500? = 3200$, a good price here for this car with only 122.000km = 74.000 miles.

Car was Toyota checked until this year with full service history.

My japanese 94 turbo rearclip in my garage:
http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/images/recovered/2006/10/23.jpg

No I have some questions:

- What part of the Camry tacho must I install in my MR2 tacho to make it compatible with the speed signal? Please I need Pictures!

- Have somebody the 3VZ-FE engine repair manual for download?

- What is with the second diagnose port under the steering wheel at driver side, need I this port and must I take the full cable harness, or is the engine cable enough?

- Need I something from inside the car?? (tacho, engine and ECU I have)
This is important for me because rest of the car is sold.

Thanks for your help

Take the full harness from the engine, right the way back to the ECU.
Get the COR (circuit opening relays) from above the ECU

Great thanks I think this will help.

If I change the board will all signals be correct?
(If the engine drive at 4000rpm show me the tach realy 4000rpm? Or if I drive 30miles show me the MR2 tach then 30miles?)

There are differences between MR2 1991 mechanical tach and the MR2 1992+ eletrical tach?

V6 engine wiring loom/harness
What is this, only the complete engine harness?
I think I take alle wiring harnes out of the camry, so I must not cut any parts.

Yes I know from the right engine mount, I think I will make this myself but I dont know the exact position of the engine. I will install the 3 other mounts and then find out the "middle" position of the engine.

But I?am not shure if this will be strong enough, the V6 has 5 engine mounts and 2 from these are very big and carry the complete engine body.
Inside the MR2 the most power musst be caried by the aloy transmission....
Hope that will not damage the transmission body.

Need I the front wiring cable to the headlights? (The cable who start at the left front engine side, going to the lamps and the ABS.)

@ schaumi
erwischt....

I have all parts from the camry he is still standing for my house, but is now sold for 450?..

I actually have a similar problem, I have a 1991 MR2 with 1992 cable tree and 1994 engine and 1994 tach.

Since I install the 175hp engine my tach is going wrong. If I drive 30km/h the tach show me 45km/h I tested it and is is at every speed the tach show me 15km/h to much!

I think 500rpm wrong is not a problem.

You remove the cast iron plate for the mount...that I whant do too. Good work, but I still thinking about to use the upper screws too.

he is still standing for my house,...

...MR2 with 1992 cable tree...

I have another question:

My 1992 3VZ tacho has the redline at 6500upm, but where is the fuel cut? 7000rpm?

Where is the redline and fuel cut from the 1996 1MZ Engine?

How can I make the fuel cut at higher rpm?

Hope I get no problem with my short N/A transmission at top speed. I think the MR2 will run 230-235km/h = 140miles (and 150 miles hill down) and it will be a problem if then the engine comes at fuel cut point.

I will make a nice finish for my engine too, because alle people can see it...
My 175hp engine now (this is not the red top):

Ok, 7100rpm is enough, there I reach with my 225/35/18 tires 247km/h = 150miles.

Perhaps I make later 245/35/18 tires on my car.

After about 1 year of planning, testing and doing my V6 get finished next weeks!

I make anything new at the engine, only replace parts cost me 2500€ = 1650pound.

Just now seen the pictures of the engine (They did'nt load at work)
I think the way you've done everything one colour looks great.
Is is just paint or powder coat? as it looks really smooth.

Definately looks better without the cover

It is all painted myself with normal paint.

Love how you have a spare rear clip to put the engine in to make it ready for fitting into your mr2!

Yesterday I make a dyno run with my old 1994 175hp 3S-GE

http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/images/recovered/2007/09/120.jpg

http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/images/recovered/2007/09/121.jpg

Video, attention 110MB:
http://www.mein-mr2.de/Bilder/V6-Motor/Videos/3S-GErun.WMV

Power was 131,9kw x 1,36 = 179,4PS @ 7467upm. (This are german DIN-PS)

Torque was 177Nm (130lbs/ft) @ 6913upm.

This I do at the engine:

- spezial air intake
- Airbox better flow
- 100 cells catalytic converter
- better Remus exhaust

Now I will make a second run if my V6 is installed.
And we will make more tests with the 2.2L US-Modell, 156hp 3S-GE and the 3S-GTE turbo on the same dyno!
This will be a great test.
Stay tuned.

I´m waiting for a test drive! Please tell me when your car ist roadworthy.

I think it's red paint ;)

I never tire of seeing a 3VZ-FE in the engine bay!

hot-chili
08-11-2007, 17:37
The paint job is not complete, this was only a test.

But the engine does not running something is wrong or killed!

I get crazy, I can not find the problem...
