Right guys and gals what I have to say wont be new to some but will be news to most. I recently jacked my job in for various reasons (mainly the 270 mile a day round trip and the european travel I did every week) and while I am looking for something closer to home I have for a long time now been looking at supplying parts to the MR2 community and I think its about time I gauged interest in what I want to do. I have already spoken to Nik and Paul about this and they have been most helpful and encouraging. I am looking at supplying the follwing parts initially with many more to come and am looking for peoples views on them as need to gauge demand before going in head first.

Parts:

Autostyle modified bodykit (no more square hole but a functional funnel for connection to brake cooling ducting)
Custom made lambo door conversion kits specifically for the MK1
Strut braces front and rear in polished ally with annodised ends
Coil over suspension kits
Braided steel brake lines with ally anodised fittings
Full polybush kits with ARB mounts to suit.
Steering rack poly bush kit
Supercharger lids with correct placement of catch for NA cars
Raised lids ala lodge style (with a portion of sale amount going to lodge for lend of original lid)
High end AP brakes that will fit under Certain 15" wheels but these are uber expensive so unlikely to be a big hit
Polished or powder coated engine dress up kits on exchange basis with surcharge
Wizards of NOS kits and NOS refill with mobile filling at meets as well.
Hopefully will have many more to come and will also be looking at the MK2 market as well

I am also looking at taking on dealership status for many well known brands such as samco, fidanza, TRD etc etc but this will take time and money but will happen as soon as possible.

If anyone has any views on these parts or has any requests please let me know and I will look into it for sure.

Also hopefully I will have a full working MK1.5 with all these parts on by the end of October at the latest if not sooner so will be able to fully test all parts sold and let people see/feel how they work.

Parts will all have a retail price that will attract discont to BM and a donation going to TB coffers for anything sold through TB and will recomend Paul as a fitter for any parts I sell.

Cheers

Sam

Sounds like a splendid plan Sam.

You do realise that for this to work you will have to buy AND sell parts?

Desired bits:-

Clutch kits
Lightened Flywheels
Service kits (all belts, filters, plugs 'n' lubes etc. in one box'd be a great timesaver.)
Boost gauges?
MK1 specific alloy seat runners
Droplinks
HT leads / dizzy caps 'n' rotors

Could maybe look at doing torque mounts as if the jig is used then they'd all be the same...

Do for now?

Cheers,

Owen.

Good idea Sam, I am fully supportive and happy to recommend you to anyone I come into contact with. My friend and I are working on 4AGE stainless manifolds and exhausts which may be of interst to you at a later date.

ps now I know why you needed those strut braces!!

Good luck mate, Ollie

Cheers everyone for your support and ideas and yes am more than willing to look at doing any of those parts. Paul your support is very much appreciated and obviuosly for all the parts I produce/sell there will only be one recomnded fitter for them thats for sure !

Ollie ref strut braces, it was 2 fold as did want them so I could look to have some made for this but have always wanted the cusco rear for the supercharger ever since I first saw a picture of a supercharger but there is a very funny story about that today which I will post up in off topic !

One of the other reasons I have come to this decision is that each and everyone of us at some time has either been shafted or screwed over by certain companies and that varies for all of us so what I plan to do is have 100% focus on customer relations and service, so if a parts ordered and its not going to be in for 3 weeks rather than sitting there waiting you will get a phone call from me/us whoever saying its 3 weeks late and do you want to change order or cancel etc ! Also you will be told at point of order about stock situation and order tracking numbers etc. I wont be using city link as they are a pain in the arse if your not home.

Have looked at premesis today which is directly opposite south wales only 4x4 rolling road and are german car specialists so that could be a result as also looking at producing decent big pulley kits for the SCs as well. Will look to eventually stock all the big brands but will take time to get the good deals and a lot of the time this will be done through group buys to get best price available.

Will have full workshop facilities but we are not looking to take on work for 1.5 conversions as thats pauls domain, but we will have fitting facilities for tuning goodies and engine bling parts eventually. Will hopefully have 2 demo cars featuring various options as well including a fully bodykitted car as well to see what its like. Will also have powder coating/anodising/polishing facilities and be able to produce anything possible from fibreglass and eventually carbon fibre/kevlar ! But again all that will take time and money to set up and will all be small scale to start with, am also looking to become europena distributor for some American/Japanese tuning companies as well ! The options are limitless really but hopefully be up and running small scale within 2 months !

That will be handy having a fitter who knows where your engine is located and how to open the lid.lol

V8 block to tubby gearbox adaptor plates?

O.S.

superchargedsam
07-09-2006, 17:41
might need to speak to paul for that one Owen ! why you considering V8 in baldric now rather than tubby or V6 ? ;)

Marksman
07-09-2006, 17:48
Helll no, but if I have a tubby track day car, and a V6 road car that leaves my SC chassis feeling all left out...

Hi mate, didn't want to hijack Garbe's thread. The clear cam covers will be quality if you can find a supplier. Any news when the Samauto will be available and have you got a pricelists for all those parts in your first post?

superchargedsam
12-09-2006, 01:10
ok have been trial fitting the kit again tonight and before its available were actually going to make it more fit friendly as I think the original was still a bad fit ! Will hopefully have initial price list 2nd week of october and hope to be able to trade from the end of october ! Any parts I supply will be tested first (obviously just the first ones not the ones I sell DOH !) for fit, durability and useability ! The clear Cam pulley covers is something I have been looking into as we may well have our own range of pulleys as well which will be anodised alloy in any colour required (once we get the anodising set up !) and would like to see these in the bay rather than hidden away ! have just sourced some good temp kits so I can monitor the plastic temps to see what they get upto before we can make final decision on them ! Also now looking to redesign the side skirts on the auto kit to enable rear brake cooling ducting to be added as current skirts allow you to blast the inside of the arches with water nice, not ! Will be stocking the full range of NOS products as well as alloys tyres etc dependant on prices we can get them for ! Also looking closely at complete new full interiors which isnt that far off now ! Litteraly the second I get back from honeymoon its all go !

great its funny that i just saw this i'm not tring to do any thing as big as you but thoughs mk1 side scoops is what i'm workn on selling here in the usa but good luck sam

superchargedsam
12-09-2006, 01:37
see looked at the whole scoops idea and although not to my taste and a lot of others they are a big product for sure but for me they would have to have form as well as function so would like to see them scooped into sealed air boxes for both cold air and extra ram air effect ! been lots of debates on scoops for sure ! good luck with them as they usually go for big money this side of the pond !

yeah recently 299 dollars here on ebay thats just stupid money so i figure i can cash in and like you said i plan to make them as functional as possable to
but lots of people here just want it to look nice don't ask why but ok
