Guys and gals... I'm just putting together my rev2 engine, and sort of roughing out where the parts go before the final installation. I've just got the alt bracket and alternator in place, and imediately I see a problem with the dipstick fouling so bad that it wont sit in place.

What have you done to get round this? Is it just a case of bodging the handle so it does fit?

Pics will be up on my site this evening of what the engine looks like :D

Thanks,
Ant

Just bend it a little to clear

yeah mne does the same fella in that position so just bent it back a fraction to make it clear, nice engine there, did you make the intake yourself then as thats a shiny piece of artwork there for sure !

No I got it from RMR in the US. Its an awesome bit of kit.

I will be making one myself. It will be a short straight runner type, but tuned for my cams. That will come later on though.

Still waiting on the exhaust manifold... that should be something special too :D

I'll play about with the dip stick tomorrow to see if I can get it to fit. Just need to take it slow as knowing my luck this week I'll snap the handle clean off lol.

ah the top bracket on the dipstick looks slightly bent over to me as it is,thats probably why is fouling...as the lads say just bend it back a smidge, sorted.

Crackin manifold by the way!

RMR do some cracking stuff, have you kept it centre mount TB or gone for the rev 3 fitting ?

Side mount and 75mm Mustang TB :D There will be a custom charge cooler in the boot :D

now that should flow some ait there fella thats for sure ! I considered looking at end mount purely for more flexibility when it comes to plumbing IC hoses and could make for a very very neat install indeed !

Yeah... the whole engine should flow well :D

A mate of mine is looking at using a 3SGE manifold as they're end mount too. Could work out nicely for a mk1.5!

yeah looked at that option as well, same difference as between the 4AGE and AGZE as they often opt for the AGE manifold when turboing the GZE so defo a goer !
