Ok still working on plans on the V8 I came across these beauties and have to be said I like this idea very much ! Now if we have to go to the trouble of fabbing up a new inlet set up why not try incorporating this into it ? Just an idea but one I do like the thought of ! love supercharging/hate detonation !

good ideas sam but the big problem we have matey is the lack of crank pulley to drive the charger! its got to go for extra clearance by the look of it,id love to fit a SC like that merc one but unless i can find space for my crank pulley its never going to happen....now turbocharging like podge is thinking of doing, thats another story! very doable!

Paul how much do you need to shave off the crank pulley as I may well have the solution for you depending how much you need to remove !

try all of it lol ,seriously I need to ditch the whole pulley space is that tight hence the remote mounted hydro powered alt, this project is not easy folks!

hmmm ok if its that tight I guess it really wont work ! Will you be then getting the bottom end all balanced end to end if your removing the wheel ? I guess there really is no way round this pulley situation by removing material from the car ?

Paul, assuming you're using the V8 starter, between the banks, you have a nice hole in the side of your gearbox - from here you will mount a shaft drive coming off the ring gears of the flywheel, which will have a pulley on the end for you to drive the supercharger off. Then you just need to find a pulley for the SC that's about half the diameter of the flywheel and you're sorted! :D

nice idea malc! not! back in your box lol im actually using the mr2 starter on the gearbox, dont like that starter in the vee set up at all, plus ive spaced the ring gear further away from the engine now so v8 starter wont work anyhoo.

I really wont know about the pulley situation until i trial fit,its looking like it needs ditching at the moment and yep the harmonic balance will be out,not a lot i can do about that....but the alternator drive is bugging me so im tempted to cut both chassis rails right back and tube frame this sucker in the rear to retain the pulley...only time will tell.
