Been on a round the country trip today. To pick up my 'new' wheels. These were an ebay find, and a bit of a bargain. I've finally got myself some lightweight jap wheels! Buddy club p1's in staggered setup, with the mk2 offset. All they need now is some spigot rings and new tyres and we're ready to roll!

best bit of all ... 6.3kg per wheel, they're lighter than the stock 14'' wheels !!! :afro:

What do we think? black wheels on a red car??

Anyone want to buy my 15's so i can buy some tyres now ;)

Nice purchase mate I like p1's alot. Good move on the weight front, my superleggeras were 8 lbs a wheel than the 17's I had on the car originally. Get em on and lets have a look.

Very nice Goldy but you might like to buy two more.

Miss Owen has black wheels on a yellow car, and I nicked them for a day to put on my red one and they certainly looked nice, so I'd say go for it.

Cheers,

Owen.

Are they standard wheels ? If not got a piccie ?

Edit : Just looked at your gallery pics, are they the ones fitted in those pics ?

The girth is 8.5 inches and 7.5 inches... there are 4 of them by the way lol I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

Tyre wise i'm probably going to go for 225's and 205's as thats whats on them at the mo, I quite like the grip levels i've currently got and don't wanna go stupid widths and screw up the handling!

The 15's i'm going to sell are the ones on my car in the gallery. They're totally mint rev3's They've been garage stored from new and have had bout 6k miles put on them, and are wrapped in bridgstone potenza gIII tyres. I'm holding out for ?250 squid for them as I doubt i'd ever find another set in the same nick.

Goldy,

Where these the ones on fleebay about a month ago? As in the same wheels I didnt bid on cos I was late into work one morning.....

Very nice mate, good find

Goldy

Yep they were..... the auction finished at 8am... i put ?80 quid on them but missed out as I slept in on the morning doh.... They went for bout ?127 in the end but the buyer didn't show and so the guy stuck em back on ebay... Sent him a pm and got him to take em off as I really wanted them. Bit of a stroke of luck really. Ended up paying ?150 for em in the end, which I think is a bit of a bargain as they're bout ?250 per wheel new!!

Put em on the car today to check if they fit, and they do. I need some spigot rings for em but i'm not sure what size they are now. I'll probably go and buy a micrometeter tomorrow, cos i've wanted one for ages!! :boogie:

I'm not sure about the black now. The wheels need a bit of a refurb me thinks so I might go for gunmetal insted of black meh thinks :hmm:

Dunno I'm thinking gunmetal as thats what they are on the back!!!

As for you jasper :nunu: :D

Anyone know what a centre bore of 4H is in mm?

adamh
12-06-2006, 21:09
what ya mean 4h??

not heard of that, then i guess im no alloy gimp.. a micrometer wont do it goldy, you'd need a 50-75 mic at a guess, and a telescopic bore gauge.

best thing to do, is take them to an alloy wheel shop and get them to measure up one, or find a machine shop somewhere, ask them to measure the bore.. .. 'enquire' etc... you'll get it measured no probs take a bare minute.

Ignore "tough" Owen and Jasper Goldy, they have not yet seen the light :)

That said, I agree with what you said about the colour, get em polished or done in ally colour is my advice...or find someone with a nice shiney black mr2, say like mine :) and sell them to him for shall we say ?200 lol

Seriously though Si, polished up would look a treat methinks.

Goldy
12-06-2006, 22:39
Polished may be a bit bling for my liking. I might give it a go though. I'm going to get the tyres taken off tomorrow and start working on them. The other problem is that they have a few scuffs on em so might need fillering.

They used to be this colour I think http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/images/recovered/2006/06/63.jpg

I rekon it might look pretty good with a red car.
