oh yeah, didn't see that.

i reckon the exhaust and boost at 14/15psi are all thats needed to see 270bhp from a rev1/2....they reckon you get 10bhp per psi increase so at 5psi more than stock=50bhp+220=270 plus exhaust? 277 sounds bang on to me,im pretty proud of the exhaust on this one, nice free flowing design all crammed under the boot floor.

Cracking calipers grommit!

the guys a powerhouse said the engine's bang on and running just right for a rev1,they were well impressed.

they said only my intercooler was letting me down,as the hot air can't escape from in side the boot, they aslo said it would help if i seal around the sides of the intercooler as the air would go though it not around it.

they where trying to get me to put the intercooler was on the roof!

the dip in the torque curve at 3000rpm is bit stange, but what do i know lol

Paul Woods

probably t-vis related, not sure when it starts to open on a rev1 3s? anyone?

Stu, you're running a standard CT26 aren't you? Power graph looks bang on for a rev1/2 with a CT26; notice the power dropping off at the wheels after approx 5000rpm? You'll want a CT26A, CT20B or some hybrid on there now :afro:

yeah its a standard CT26,but not for long lol

been looking into new turbos, ours can be a bit smokey at odd times.:toke:

so if i swap for CT26A, CT20B or a hybrid it should hold the boost a bit longer?

stu i dont think its the turbo that smokes occassionally,i checked the IC pipes are they were all bone dry.I think its got something to do with the donor having been on its roof and the oil running to the top of the engine, possibly filling up the inlet manifold and/or exhaust system....the smoke on startup was wild,i bet it clears after a few weeks use mate, but def not the turbo,it runs without spewing any oil into the IC pipes.

A ct20b or hybrid ct26 would work wonders on that car!

maybe the exhaust on it? very free flowing exhausts can cause turbos to smoke a little bit more due to less backpressure on the oil seals

whens it smoking? on overrun? on boost? all the time?

blue smoke? white? black?

Paul Woods

theres no oil in the IC pipes though? bone dry.

Well the only thing I can recommend is to give the thing a thoroughly good thraping in an effort to flush all the impurities out.
As if you need any encouragement lol.
It didnt look too bad when I saw it so hopefully it will clear up completely eventually,

Paul Woods

i think its cos its been upside down during the crash...oil has obviously run into the inlet manifold and possibly into the exhaust as well...it should clear in time.

If it were new oil from the engine as opposed to old oil from the upside down experiance how much would we be talking about burning? I was thinking that if the oil level in the engine wasn't dropping at all then it would reassure that all was well, but if only trace ammounts being burned then that wouldn't really help.

Cheers,

Owen.
