Just been testing my car and seem to be getting a fuel cut or similar at around 5000rpm in 5th gear only, this happens at around 112-115 mph so I'm guessing my engines an import with a speed limiter.

Anyone know how to take it off? Bloody embarrassing.

I think you can just cut the spd signal that goes back to the ECU to remove the speed cut but i'm sure the dark lord will confirm things.

Or buy one of John soles boards that you can tune as well.

I normally fit these as part of the conversion if i know it has a limiter.

Is there a way to figure out if it has a limiter or not before you run it?

Can anyone confirm how to do this? Would save a few quid on buying a delimiter.

Hi Ian,

If you look at the pinouts for the ECU there's a pin called SPD. I will see if I can find a plug diagram.

Just PM'd you a link, the info you need should be in there.

You can't just cut SPD on the vvti 1mz ECU, it'll go into limp, do it properly with the HKS unit, it's only £70

Like I don't have to go take it out for a spin and test the top speed to figure out it it will stall at a certain speed....

The listing for that link has ended now Paul, the rest are all £115 from Japan. I'll have a scoot round the internet.

Are they easy to wire up? Sounds like the instructions might be in Japanese.

Would this be any good? - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Blitz-Speed-Jumper-Delimiter-/181096167288?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a2a2c3778

Yep that should do the trick, four wires, power/ground/speed in/speed out.

Ordered. Next question will be how to install it but I don't suppose I'll have it in time for this weekend.

Locate your SPD wire on the 4th out of 5 ECU plugs, that's the 2nd from the right. Pin 22 on that plug should be a purple wire with a white stripe.

Cut that wire several inches away from the ECU plug. Join the yellow wire to the ECU side of that P/W wire, join the Green wire to the chassis side of that P/W wire.

Run black to ground and red to a 12v ignition source, pin 2 of the 5th ECU plug (furthest right) B/O wire should be ignition live, check that with a meter to be sure.

To sum up.

Black - Ground.
Red - 12v ignition
Yellow - Speed signal to ecu
Green - Speed signal to car
