Did i mention i was building two of these at the same time? Must have forgot to tell you about this one then!

It is fairly well advanced now, engine is hung, all four mounts done, gear linkage done, plumbing 90% done and just in the fuel system stage now...

Apologies for the crap build thread, i've been so busy actually building them i just haven't had time to go into any detail about what i'm doing.

Very nice!
What sort of exhaust is this one getting Paul?

It had a sports system of some sort on it already, i can't remember the name but it's a good size bore on it for the 2gr and twin exit, should sound lush.

Cheeky bastard, the iphone is state of the art i'll have you know, how dare you slander the mighty Apple product! :)

I'll take a lot more pics today, it's a stock Mk3 at the moment but i think the owner has bigger plans for it.

Excellent, looks suspiciously like the style of an SP exhaust ( it would probably have SP on the tips if so.) Nice neat looking install.

Wow! Can't believe I missed the thread. Looking good Paul. Very tidy. Loving the colour scheme. Can't wait to get it back :jump:

Yes Nigel, that's an SP exhaust. I have a feeling its going to be very very loud!

Yes Brad, it will be brilliant mate. The SP should be just the job gas flow wise, as it was originally designed for turbo applications. No cat on this one by the looks of things, unless it is a very small race cat and not a flexi I see in the pic.

Yeah, Paul's left the cat out. Theres some silly gains on these just from the header/exhaust combo and it'll be rude to put a cat in the way. Apparently they really clean even without one, although I will need to find a sympathetic tester for MOT time though. The SP is a nice exhaust, but I find it a slight too loud. Ok for short journeys or a hoon but cruising long distance is grating. A turbo must quieten it down a bit. How's yours holding up? Still loving it?

I think i bought up the UK's stock of flexis for my exhaust system, lol.

The 1mz-fe vvti is awesome in the mk3, so this is going to be phenominal.

In a word a 2gr in a lite chassis is terrifying .

I've fitted better tyres now kal those falcons on the back were nearly bald no wonder she was a bit of a handful in the wet and ice.

Small tip to all 2gr owners buy the best hard wearing tyres you can afford, as you will go through them a lot doing hooligan starts or pod launches, and a mk3 is just as lite as a mk1 so fit the biggest wheels in those arches.

Goodyear eagle f1 are the best tyres to fit but your buggered for 205/40/17 closest is 215/40/17 , my tyre guy said there what he would fit to all sports cars there that good.

Now running, she's pretty sweet, i'll grab a video tomorrow..... sadly my Autel JP701 scanner died so while i have a new one on the way i can't progress any further with testing, i shouldn't grumble, it lasted 3 years!
