A quick question for you guys - would a w reg and a 51 plate Mk3 be the same model ? ie for the purposes of reshelling ?

Should be. I believe the facelift model arrived in 2003. Even then I think most changes were cosmetic, possibly some differences in the suspension, but from what I understand the monocoque is the same as the earlier model also.

Yep, shouldn't be any problems there, both pre facelift.
