That's because there aren't any aftermarket cams for the 3vz , u forget, the engine was never ment for a sports car hence no tuning bits.. well accept a sc,
You can have the cams ground to get a more aggressive profile, but from what I've read, the benefits if any are minute.. u will be better off port polishing the heads as that can gain u Upto 30bhp if done right..

I'm with mrT here, the issue is no angular adjustment between the two cams. I have a working design for a vernier pulley modification for the existing timing belt pulley's but without alteration too of the non-backlash gear it'll be pretty fruitless to do. Reground cams with higher lift is about all you can do simply but as said, porting will get you 30hp ...

You can also get later springs from a 96 engine that are softer thereby reducing valvetrain power losses...

92 (early heavy springs) 3VZ
13711B SPRING, COMPRESSION(FOR INNER)
90504‑39004 3VZFE..VCV10..NAP 24 € 7.88

94+ (lighter duty springs) 3VZ
13711B SPRING, COMPRESSION(FOR INNER)
90501‑31012 3VZFE..VCV10..JPP, CHUMATU 24 € 4.17
90501‑31013 3VZFE..VCV10..JPP, SANKORU 24 € 4.63

A set of tubular exhaust manifolds will also give upto a 30hp gain, guaranteed from back to back dyno testing to give a significant improvement! have a look at the set that came off my old car that are for sale :

Probably money better spent, with documented proof.

IMHO.

Well that sucks. I don't know if I want softer springs though, valve float, any other ideas?

I fitted the later springs to mine and no side effects that I have noticed
