Guys,
it looks like the cable has come detached from the front bonnet release. I need to get the bonnet open but how???
You'll need it high up at the front and a long screw driver then bend the guard out of the way before flicking the mech to release. I have a bonnet release here off a car if you want me to take pics to show you how to do it.

That would be great if you could Si. It kept Jiff busy for half an hour but i dont think the screwdriver was long enough.

Sorted. The release catch had seized from lack of use and lack of grease causing the cable retaining piece to snap.
We took the headlight lens surround off, and wedged a 20mm piece of wood under the corner of the bonnet. Then undid the bolts holding the catch on. Car is sorted now.
