Im installing an Apexi AVCR but just noticed when trying to find the Speed signal Wire (Purple with white strip) That its not connected to the ECU (Its sitting loose from the harness)

Should I push this back into the ECU harness?

My car was a Jap Rev3 NA Thats been converted with a Rev2 Turbo engine, could this be why its disconnected.

Also I notice when hitting 60 - 70 mph I get an Error code for the speed sensor signal, could this be because of this loose wire?

Thansk

Yes you are getting the error code (42 i believe?) because the Pur/Wh wire is not connected to your ECU.

Reconnect it and the code will go away (after ECU reset), but you will then have your 117mph speed limit cut in or whatever it is.

Right so Im guessing it was removed as some sort of "DIY" Speed limit remover.

Luckilly I have a Clamping Delimiter installed :D

Thanks

Yep that is why, it works but hardly the correct way to do it.

connected back up :)

Took the car for a drive and its still reading the speed and the speed on the AVCR is also displayed :D

Thanks

yep that Pur/wh wire is the signal returning from the clocks to the ECU, the clocks get their signal from the gearbox speed sender on the purple wire.... just so you know! :)

Ahh so thats why the clocks were still working even with that wire off.

Thanks
