I think it looks a bit better now :shades:

Thanks to Paul Woods, PaulM & AdamH for the help and advice so far. And thanks to JohnnyG for constantly nagging me for the last 6 months to get the project started :slap:

I didnt want to post publicly until I was confident the engine would fit, it does!!!!

Proper build thread to follow.

Hehe, good man!

Funnily enough i was speaking to someone yesterday about a 3SGTE in a mk3 and that's just confirmed it.

Is that in the correct position etc or just slid in to see if it physically fits?

Its sat on some blocks of wood but in the correct location. Driveshafts are in and both have plenty of float.

Had to cut the crossmember and the chassis rail to get it in though.

Thank god you've started and can give the mk1.5 boys a run up the strip next year, glad all the nagging helped to get you started.

Is it the gearbox that's causing problems with the chassis rail chief?

You'll be glad you don't have to go cutting holes in the parcel shelf am sure.

Well done Gary. Best of luck with the build.

I can see it now as you pull up to the line next year, first pre stage then the lights go green. Foot flat to the floor and burning rubber, 1/4 mile done in a very quick time and cheers come from the crowd.

Lisa looks at me and speaks "Didnt Craig do well"

Priceless and i'd put £10 on it.
