Has anyone rebuild their gearbox and upgraded the synchromesh from a Rev1 to Rev3, can it be done?

I think you will need to check part numbers for compatibility on upgrading.
Why would you want to use Rev3 synchros? Why not just new Rev1 ones?
You may find the gearsets have different diameters on the synchro ring/ hub sizes and might not fit.
If you're gonna rebuild either start with a rev 3 or rebuild to original spec mate, you'll end up with one hell of an engineering task otherwise.

I understand rev 3 have twin synchros, much better so if they would fit I would like to use them. I shall just have to strip two boxes down and see what I can get to fit.

iv rebuilt 2 rev2 lsd boxes and both had twin synchros on 2nd gear, not sure if they fit rev 1 though

Yes rev 2 and 3 had up rated synchros, but will they fit the rev 1 thats what I would like to know.
