this may have been posted before, but i just stumbled across it. its a list of wheels that fit ST205 Celicas (e.g. fit over their giant front brakes). anything that fits the Celica should easily fit ST205 front brakes on an MR2, since we machine the discs down 15mm to accomodate the calipers mounting in closer. usually the biggest fitment issues is clearance at the front of the rim from the spokes to the caliper. and in theory this list should cover that.

Only problem i could see here is if the offset is different with the wheels.

Good info though.

most of the wheels on there seem to be around the ET35-38 range, which is pretty much the same as the MR2. caliper spacing has to be the same because the disc spacing is the same, so in theory if a wheel fits on the Celica, it fits on the MR2 with the Celica brakes. we move the calipers towards the centre of the wheel by around 15mm, so that further reduces clearance issues in the spoke area.

ive got a set of brand new Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's on their way, £324 delivered!! they should fit fine, and at that price theyre an absolutely awesome deal. £81/rim, you can barely even get Rota's for that :)

Jim - does this mean you're staying with 16s or going to 17s? I'm hoping that 16 is the biggest I'll have to go when I get to that stage. Ideally I'd like 15s, with a 7/8in front rear stagger but (a) there are very few makes available at sensible prices in 15*8 and (b) 15in limits brake size (although I'd guess that for primarily road use, you'd more than get away with 270-280mm discs with good calipers).

Syill no idea on style of wheel though. I think either a plain 5 spoke (rota slips) or some thing old school (like the rota RB). Cheap and light is what I'm after.

im sticking with 16's. toyed with the idea of 17" but its too big a trade off. id rather downsize brakes and keep the wheels small than have to go to 17's. fortunately it seems that there are 16's available that can accomodate ST205 brakes! they are only 7" wide though. with 122hp (or less) i cant afford to be dragging around 225+ tyres!! im going to run 195/45/16's on them, the extra width isnt worth the straight line trade off, il get the grip back in the damping

Is anyone else actually running st205's and 16in wheels or is it just me?
If theres more we could start our own table?

i will be in a couple of weeks. most people i read about are running 17's though, how many people are there with ST205's up front?
