I know there arent many MK3 drivers on here but has any of the few fitted their own hard top? I have found the instructions on the web and it looks pretty easy, I am just wondering how easy it is to get hold of the fitting kit? do toyota sell it as a kit? cost? I would get the hardtop itself from ebay as there appears to be plenty on there.

I really want a hard top version but there dont appear to be many popping up local to me so this would open the search to loads more cars.

how long before you want to buy one. My wife might be selling hers later this year which is an 02 with hardtop in silver, just done 53K miles.

From what i know all the hardtops came with air con and leather whereas a normal Roadster came with cloth seats and ac and leather as options.

Personally i would bide your time to find the right one with a hardtop as opposed to buying the hardtop seperately. There are more out there than you think. i know of 3 in the town i live in all with hardtops.

I was going to suggest Chris at Cheap Toyota parts for a fitting kit, he's supplied quite a few on ROC. Cheapest way is either to buy a car with one fitted or get one with a fitting kit included. The fitting kit is the best part of 200!

Good info there, cheers all.

Hoping to buy one pretty soon, I am still hoping to find a hard top fitted car, but weighing up all the options.

It looks like it will be a fair bit more expensive to fit one myself.
