Johnny and myself have been doing a lot of work on getting my new website off the ground,it has taken a few long weekends of article writing (in between playing rfactor and building my kitchen!) .... but it has finally gone live today...

www.woodsport.org

Sincere thanks to Johnny for all of the hard work he has done and also to nik for my last website design, they both know how much its been appreciated

Any comments/suggestions welcome.

You shouldn't be looking @ non-work websites during office hours lol lol lol

Be interested to hear the feed back though when viewed from a home connection. It's housed in the same zone as the TB servers, so it should be quick.

one suggestion from a quick browse is that the prices for conversions are a little hidden in amongst the text. might be worth having the pricing listed more clearly near the top as well?

Trying to get stuff like that out of Paul is like trying to get you to fit Tein's. It's hard work, bordering on impossible.

Now that TB's running ok, I'm going to go over the site again and emphasise certain bits :) If you could do websites with a wrench, then Woodsport's new one would have been done months ago lol

Top work, very professional (obviously), just spent a nostalgic 30mins browsing the past conversions that we have all seen on TB. We kind of take Paul's attention to detail for granted now, it's only when you see them all together you realise what a quality outfit Woodsplurt is.

Only critiscism is there is only one 's' in escort (thought JG would know that, man of the world etc.;)) and you haven't done a Celica Gen7 V6 conversion yet:naughty: so when is the next opening to book the wifes car in.

Good call Rowan, I'll check that later - the design and layout is mine, the article content is Woods. :)

Hi Paul, cos I'm a lazy fecker (unless it involves my mr2), I used to use the link that was on the right hand side of the twobrutal homepage - this is no longer there so don't know where to find the link - is it now on your new website...??

Woodsport was founded back in 2001, it's birth came from my personal love and ownership of MR2's - and being a time served mechanic - naturally I learned everything about it. Slowly, I found myself working on friends and other peoples club cars.

it's been changed now had to reread it twice.

Paul Woods
13-03-2009, 19:47

one thing i did notice on a quick browse was in the mr2 conversions section

"...heres the typical level of finish on a v6 prior to install. "

and no pic underneath it to show the finish

probably being a bit picky but thought i'd let you know anyway

other than that it works fine for me at home with firefox, very nice site guys, looks good, all the info you need and fast loading as well. top job

We now have a very basic Q&A section on the website, i'd hardly call it a forum it's that basic! Also i managed to get a chatbox working on the website too, quite chuffed with myself!

hey Paul, does logging in actually achieve something?

reason I ask is i set up a login ages ago when i first found you through a Google Search and now my browser tries to login every visit but gets told to sod off!

perhaps its a local custom, a geordie welcome reserved for vikings!

Torero
18-04-2010, 22:46
You might have a stored password on your system with different login detail.

I'm not sure to be honest spook, my website technical knowledge ranks just slightly higher than that of a tree frog.

nik
19-04-2010, 16:24
in its current setup logging has no benefit, but being registered means you are on the memberlist of woodsport for newsletters/mailshots etc

Spook
19-04-2010, 21:54
thanks Nik, that answers that one.

Sorry Paul, i made a big cockup, heres how
I'm not usualy allowed much alcohol due to a medical issue in my 20's, very occasional have a small one, but i found a bottle of Old Tom under the stairs leftover from who knows when and thought, yeah i'm having that! then i went on the forum feeling a bit.. well lost & dizzy, then i saw this thread that said you had a brand new website, great had a look at that but it all looked the same to me, the more i looked the more i thought this hasnt changed a bit except Paul keeps sending himself messages, which WAS new but even more confusing, around bedtime I realised i must have gone on an old thread... weird stuff that old tom

I know bugger all about forums but use Dreamweaver for web site building everyday, self taught, Ive also been a technical illustrator and a commercial artist, which is rather like being a piss artist but better paid... good old days

Paul Woods
20-04-2010, 06:47
No need to apologise mate, we have all been there! :)

snowtigger
20-04-2010, 20:02

Torero

I'm not usually allowed much alcohol due to a medical issue in my 20's

I'm the same. If have a bottle in front of me, it ends up as a frontal lobotomy.
