Taken from the Brake Guide:

"Caliper bolts straight on. Disc requires 3 holes drilling (5x100pcd compared to 4x100). Disc requires machining down to 300mm for wheels of 16" or smaller."

What's the views on the best wheel size to use with these. Machine down and go with a 16" or leave as they are and use 17". Is there arch rubbing issues with 17's or anything else I should be aware of?

Not really an answer to your question but I am planning on running 17" rims with 205 tyres. Dont think there will be any major problems.

2 points:

You machine the disc down to allow you to use the stock caliper mounting brackets - or in other words the stock mounting points only allow a 300 mm disc with the 205 calipers. Remember that however big the disc radius, the caliper always sticks out further so it is this that governs how big your wheels need to be. If you don't machine the disc, you will need to fabricate some sort of mount adaptor bracket to mount the caliper a further (315-300)/2 = 7.5 mm further out from the centre of the hub.

Second, ST205 stock wheels are 16", so the above method will still allow 16" wheels. However very few designs of 16" wheel will fit over the huge 205 calipers, you will find virtually all the usual saxo/corsa type stuff (e.g. fox, wolfrace etc etc) won't fit, but OZ, speedline, momo and most Jap makes will - i.e. wheels made by racing companies not styling companies.
