Hi all, this is my first post ,but alas it looks like the V6 project is no longer viable.
I'm going to try and source another tubby engine, and would like to know what members may feel i could charge for these?

I know that this might not be to everyones taste ,but there was a lot of man hours involved and i would hate to give them away.

What do you think i should charge or should i go down the Ebay route?

And the sharp eyed amongst you will notice that the lettering is the right way up?

Is it just the 2 of these up for sale or do you mean producing more of them? (before anyone batters you with affiliate rules)

Either way, stick em up on ebay, with links on the forums and see what they make.

No, i'm not going to produce any more, it was a one off project for myself.
Sadly, these may need to go?
If i can ony get pennies for them, i may hold on to them.

Why not become an affiliate and offer to do them on an exchange basis for anyone doing the swap at the mo?

You have your first set already!

That way you see some return for your man hours of polishing...

I did this a while back on a 3SGE manifold, was such a ballache and took hours to get a good finish I couldn't face ever doing another one! I sold mine for £60 in the end for an inlet manifold and cover for thr TVIS/ASICS or whatever its called

Come on guys, how much do you think these are worth?

Don't be afraid of upsetting me! My friends do it all the time.

I know how long it took me and what i spent , but as we all know, it's a cruel world out there and something like this is really hard to place a figure on due to the Marmite factor.

Any suggestions welcome, even if you just want to take the piss.

i will start the ball rolling by saying if you cant get at least £100 for the plenum alone theres something wrong, that sort of work costs a lot to do but you never quite get back what you put in as we all know.

funny old financial times and all that though to consider as well, who knows mate!

A shedload of wet and dry and litres of metal polish was my method... which works fine untill your fingers start bleeding lol

or a dremel and a kit from frost or one of the other major suppliers kits flap wheels and three different types of cutting and polishing compound, hours watching vids on how too do it and how not too do it.

then at least a 100 hours fecking around getting covered in polish and cutting compound, and looking black as the ace of spades do not ware white clothes as alloy is a dirty metal to polish.

The Manifold was then smoothed using wet and dry, blood sweat and tears.

The final part of the process was accomplished by using an Ebay polishing kit, This comprised of 3 polishing mops and 2 grades of compound.

I think you'd need to give it a coat of clear so it doesn't oxidise again.
