Just spotted this on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=160259981407

Same brand as the clutches (postive reactions about them, aslo groupbuy now) Maybe this could be a cheaper alternative for the $300 findanza's?
Any experience with these?

nope not really..

Fidanza Flywheel
Part no. - 130331
Fitment - Toyota 3SGTE Celica/MR2 Turbo
Weight - 4.82Kg
Pack - One flywheel

4.82KG so that almost 10 pounds, that means that this is 500grams heavier but costs only half as much..

Actually, 4.82Kg is 10.6 lbs so they weigh roughly the same.

haha yeah just found out that its not the same as the metric pounds we have here in holland.. anyway.. this might be worth checking out..
Just emailed him if theres also a 3SGE version, i will be using an NA gearbox so that would make life easier..

IIRC the NA fidanza weighs less than the tubby one.

Maybe so but this is only about the tubby version, because there is no NA model of this particular flywheel..Just got an email back from him.

So just for the tubby models this might we worth looking at, is there a possibility to match a turbo fly like this to an na engine and use na clutch kit? Ive already got the clutchkit coming so...I would be willing to check this out but would be waste if i cant use the clutch kit ive ordered..

U can use half a turbo clutch and half an N/A clutch to mate it to the turbo flywheel.

We do this quite a bit and it makes for a good performance clutch.

Being able to buy seperate friction plates and pressure plates is a bit of a bastard though.

Still, how often do you replace a clutch?

ok... what part do i need then from the turbo clutch? And thats still twice as expensive because ill probalby have to buy a complete kit and take it apart.. then i have 2 half kits left that i cant use..

Any ids on this?

Right, see if i can get this right...

Flywheel is closest to engine, then it's the friction plate as that bit grips the flywheel and then it's the pressure plate on the outside.

So, to fit inside an N/A box you'll need the N/A Pressure plate.

And to match the flywheel, you'll need the turbo friction plate.

Either way, if you're buying 2 kits, you'll have the right bits for each

turbo pressure plate mates to flywheel with turbo mounts...

NA friction plate as it has correct center for manual trans...

unless you have a turbo box then a trubo clutch kit is fine:)

Ah fuck, i always get it wrong way round.

Of course it is, makes sense now lol

Ok i cut the cord and ordered a set, flywheel and MR2 Turbo clutch kit so i can use the lightweight flywheel and have an upraded clutch. The kit is about the same as a findaza flywheel ($300), so i could get the NA clutch and use the set i already got but i really want to try this as an alternative and as i understand it, mixing and matching the clutch parts make for a better setup so...
